I remember visiting this winery many years ago and meeting the young and driven winemaker.
The winery, which is not far from Les Arcs produces dynamite red wines with the propensity to age very well. From what I recall about their Roses they have not lost the touch.
Offering up a very pale salmon pink color, the very aromatic blend of Grenache and Cinsault is a strawberry and raspberry delight that is perfect on a spring day.
I have been a fan of this winery since the 1983 vintage and of their all around very crisp and dry Riesling since first tasting this wine from the 1985 vintage.
The white Alsatian wine is perfect with Gravlax and cole slaw as the crisp acidity, citrus and light white spice plus gobs of orange and lemon stands up so perfectly.
A blend of Grenache and Llasiner Pelut from an old vineyard in the Roussillio.
This wine is bright fruit, layer upon layer of plums both red and black plus a burst of cherry cola.
A supurb find at 7.50 euro per bottle.
The six day fete in the Rhone Valley begins tomorrow. Over 750 producers pouring what totals some 10000 different bottles of their most recent releases.
Not only are the days full of wine, so are the nights as many of the appellation’s associations are staging dinners each night.
This not for the wine amateur, but only the trade and those who know better than to drink and drive.
Yes Sylvain’s whites age very well. This blend of Ugni Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Chsrdonnay is a lovely wine.
Light notes of lemon peel, orange slices and fresh tangerines. The wine still tastes youthful and fresh without any hint of aging.
Unjust tasted a barrel sample of this wine from the vineyard I was married in, from the year of the wedding.
I am buying ten cases.
Mocha, cassis, black and blueberries, raspberry, wild cherry and a dose of rosemary, thyme and marjorem.
Granted I’m biased but Sylvain Fadat has made a blockbuster wine that may be only the 2007 barrel sample of the Le Clos.
I’ve been drinking this wine since the 91 vintage and have never been dissapointed by the wine.
The blend of Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan is fresh and lively with a bouquet of black tar, black pepper, wild cherry and an array of berries both wild and sweet. what makes this wine so attractive is the always present aroma of the Garrigue herbs that provides a perfect rememberance of where the wine hails from.
The wine is made in a small village best known for Mas Daumas de Gassac, but other producers have discovered the fertile soil which offers very good growing conditions. This oppulant white is a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Vermentino. There is a hint of tropical fruit like sweetness that seems to blend nicely with local oysters from near Sete in the coastal port of Bouzigues. There are flavor of ripe apples, peach, golden pears and honeydew. Offering a touch of lemon and lime, this is a perfect porch and pool wine for a sunny day.
